Trust II

God is worthy of all praise and exaltation. His loving care is to be spoken throughout the generations. He magnified His Word of above His name and gave it to us that we may know Him. It is the beginning of the relationship that we must develope with the creator of the heavens and earth. The more we take the time to be with Him in our secret place/prayer closet, the more we know Him experientially. The more we trust Him, the more we trust what He has told us in His Words.

Proverbs 3
:1 My son, forget not my law;
   but let thine heart keep my commandments:
:2 for length of days, and long life, and peace,
   shall they add to thee.
:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
   bind them about thy neck;
   write them upon the table of thine heart:
:4 so shalt thou find favour and good understanding
   in the sight of God and man.
:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
   and lean not unto thine own understanding.
:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,
   and he shall direct thy paths.
:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes:
   fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
:8 It shall be health to thy navel,
   and marrow to thy bones.
:9 Honour the Lord with thy substance,
   and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
:10 so shall thy barns be filled with plenty,
   and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Do not forget the Words that God has spoken, guard them in your heart, don't let anyone or any thing steal them from you. His laws cause you to be in health and prosper and His commands allow you to have a long life and peace. Never let mercy and truth out of your life, bind them about your neck, so that it is difficult to be removed, and write them on the table of your heart. When you have God's Words in your heart they are a part of you, you trust His Words. The result: you will find favour and knowledge and wisdom in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart (you have hid His Word there), and lean not to your own understanding. God's ways are higher than our ways, we are to seek His knowledge and wisdom, not succumb to our own understanding. The facts may say one thing but what does God say? What is the true reality? Who do you think you are?

Who is this God that we put our trust in?

Isaiah 26
:3 Thou [God] wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
    because he trusteth in thee.
:4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
:5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low;
    he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

It is God who keeps us at peace. When we realize that He is our heavenly Father, taking care of us like a father his child, we can rest in His care. Everlasting strength, wow! He is the one that thwarts the attacks and temptations of the enemy. When we keep our thoughts well arranged on God and His Words you will abide in perfect peace. God brings the peace that passes all understanding over you.

A big part of trusting someone is knowing them. You will then know whether you can trust them or not. The same is true with knowing God, and you can. You can know Him even better than you know your earthly father. Not only has He written an extensive letter to you, but He can also talk to you. One area that is central to all of our lives is food, clothing, and shelter. God has much to say on that subject. We find one record of His care for us in Matthew 6.

Matthew 6
:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
    what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
    Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
:26 Behold the fowls of the air:
    for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns;
    yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
    Are ye not much better than they?
:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? [about 18 inches]
:28 And why take ye thought for raiment?
    Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is,
   and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
    O ye of little faith?
:31 Therefore take no thought, saying,
    What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father
    knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
    and all these things shall be added unto you.
:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
    for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
    Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

What does God really mean by taking no thought? It is to be worried or anxious. All of the things in life that we need God easily supplies for us. God gives us a several examples: the fowls of the air, the lilies of the field, and the grass. He provides for them food, clothing, and shelter. And He does it abundantly. We can also simply believe, simply trust God and His Word. We believe His promises, we have faith which pleases God.

Hebrews 11
:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:
    for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
    and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Trust God, have faith, believe that His son, Jesus Christ, came for our salvation. Jesus Christ came to reconcile us back to God that we may have entrance unto Him, for by Adam's transgression we were seperated.

II Thessalonians 2
:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because,
    when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us,
    ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth,
    the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Trust God, believe His Word, and you will see the effect of His Word performed in your life.

Enter into His gates with praise and thanksgiving and you shall know, experientially, the creator of the heavens and earth, our Heavenly Father, and His Son Jesus Christ.
